i'm just bored at work, really

new folks at work this week and another new one week after next. we've been running on a tight skeleton crew for awhile now (even when we had two additional people - folks had vacations and medical stuff, etc., etc) and it's just been the four of us (mgr, two psa's, one almost-teen-librarian). but now we'll have a full staff plus a little extra (mgr, three psa's one pt psa, teen librarian, children's librarian, plus a student). it's pretty exciting b/c we'll have more schedule breathing room and also new folks are (hopefully) fun anyhow. but lots and lots of stuff to onboard in the meantime. you don't realize HOW much you do on the day to day until you're explaining it to new folks lol

new juv librarian was surprised to hear that we're not an awfully busy branch, but apparently she lives up near fairlawn, so we're the polar opposite in terms of their busy-ness

pulled some plants i overwintered out of the basement - above are our thornless porch blackberries which are already putting out new buds

and our container strawberries which never really went fully dormant in the basement lol but they've got fresh new growth

and tony's tulips he bought last year are popping back up! i think there's a third one in there that hasn't made it to the surface yet

it was nice to get my hands in the dirt a bit yesterday. the spider plants thrived indoors over the winter and the only plant we did lose was one of the succulents that struggled with the indirect sunlight. i'll probably buy another one this year, tho.
