dream ramblings
weird dream last night about a house (big old farmhouse, peeling white paint) my dream-self apparently lived in at one point (but NOT the dream-house that's the one constructed of cobbled together pieces of all the places i've lived in the waking world) and it was abandoned/empty/decaying (but i got the vibe i lived in it while it was like that? or kind of a 'towards the end of its life' kind of occupation) and apparently someone had recently bought it? the first day of my dream (this was a two-parter lol) i was wandering through it and a lot of things i'd owned had still be left there (bikes, desks, an old sewing machine?) and i kept thinking 'i could take these and who would know' but i didn't
the following 'day' in the dream (idk if it was the next day, or some time later) i was visiting someone at a house that was down below the hill the other house apparently sat on and i was on their porch chatting before i looked up at the hill and saw the house was gone. so i run over and up the hill b/c i'm like 'wtf????' and turns out the upper half of the house has been demolished, but the bottom half is still there with a lot of the things i'd seen the previous visit.
the girl who bought the house was there?? also bud was there with me and kept going on about how i should just take my things and i kept calling him 'rob' (which is my siblings' father's name) and that i wasn't going to take anything and it was all left there when i left and the new owner bought it fair and square and the girl who bought the place gave me a real tight hug and invited me next door to meet her family and they lived in this much newer farmhouse and there were SO many of them (it seemed to have the vibe of a family reunion?)
it was definitely weird?? like this house i THINK i've seen in my dreams before, but it's absolutely a different house than my eldritch horror dream-house lol. I THINK maybe it's the house that's shown up sometimes with a big front porch and there's often thunderstorms when i'm in it
anyhow, idk where this all came from. i think maybe throwing back to being in kent the other week with my mom and walking past my old place there (where i did leave some stuff and where i lived for a decade AND THEY CUT THE BIG FUCKING TREE IN THE FRONT YARD DOWN) so maybe it's telling me to let it go or something idk
