stuff and fridge woes and hiking

this last week has been a fuckin' lowkey mess. the water pipe bursting on tuesday. THEN we noticed our fridge wasn't as cold as it should be. so we've been fighting with that for the last two days- the freezer was overfull and frosted up behind the panel so we're trying to regulate it without having to completely defrost the whole thing b/c we just bought a ton of meat to freeze last paycheck and i cannot afford to lose a bunch of that food.

i THINK it's starting to sort itself out. crossing my fingers the most we lose is some veg and cheese _(:ι」∠)_

yesterday, between fretting about the fridge, we trekked out to the dmv to get tony's license renewed and then went on a hike with friends and sadie puppy

we ended up hiking in the dark on the way back, b/c we didn't realize how far out the spot we were heading towards was

we started at the ledges shelter/parking lot/trail head and went around to the ice box cave b/c we wanted to show tony and chris the petroglyphs. but we overshot them and then kinda milled around, heading out to a spot we hadn't hiked before (happy days lodge near the top). only about a mile or so total, but the ledges is, well, LEDGES and pretty rocky in some parts. the trek back wasn't awful (partially thanks to phone flashlights), but because we had to head back UPHILL it was definitely more strenuous

but, it was nice just being in the dusk/dark there. i would've loved to stay a little longer to full dark and just sit on the rocks in the woods and listen to things

we also saw a HUGE owl that was being harassed (or vice versa) by two squirrels way up in the trees

i wish the ledges were closer, i love being there

also talked about halloween stuff (planning on doing trick or treat with friends and then playing 10 candles) and also either friendsgiving or a holiday party (also with friends, obv lol)
