stuff and zines!!!

when i posted on [community profile] holiday_wishes earlier this month, one of my wishes was more zines! and [personal profile] snoopdawg sure did deliver!!

absolutely in LOVE with the ribbon closure on the green one!!!!

oldest one here is around 2001, most recent is 2007 (i've got a spreadsheet going here) and just skimming over them so far has been a delight, i cannot wait to dig into them

a real lock of hair! this individual mentioned at the beginning of their zine that they just recently shaved their head. this is also the oldest of the bunch - 2001 - and i hope that liberte unlocked is still doing cool stuff to this day

i plan on going through them all and scanning them, as well. documenting ephemera is something i'm big into already, so this definitely scratches that itch. will probably also rebind them with thread, as most are stapled and those will rust eventually. might review each one, since there's not a ton, but a lot are perzines and idk doesn't feel like 'reviewing' someone personal chatter is the right angle haha, but something like that

i think MAYBE, if it'd been introduced to zines as a teen/twenty-something (i'd heard of them but in more of a 'pre-internet' kind of thing that no one did anymore - at least no one i knew) i FEEL like they'd be something i would've been big into

but ALSO i was garbage at keeping any kind of physical journals and stuff like that so maybe not lol

being able to write/do stuff like that online (journaling, saving my little jpegs) meant that i wasn't risking it getting damaged/losing it/whatever in my physical life (i'd moved around too many times during my childhood and lost so many things...)
