stuff and first day of spring~

got out today and was able to bike up to merriman valley so i could visit happy tails thrift shop. it was overcast/sprinkling most of the day, but not so much that it was annoying. trying to enjoy things even if they're not in my most ideal conditions, weather-wise

saw lots of bits of greenry peeking through the brown and grey brush of winter. all the tiny things starting to come to life

had a good score at happy tails, though! first thing i found was a neat playing card set with a deck of goodyear branded playing cards and a fancy metal pencil! i really love the old scorecards i've seen that read 'we' vs 'they'. also found a little trio of outer banks lighthouses. something to put with my other trinkets, reminds me of my mom and when we lived out on hatteras island. a very cute little carved wooden kitty and a really nice/sturdy waxed canvas bag!
they had a LOT of bags there right now and i was just browsing them out of curiosity b/c i have a lot of bags already, but i'm always interested in, like, a neat-looking bag or a cool coin purse or something. this guy has a bunch of inner pockets, too, and for only six bucks i was sold
also snagged a really nice can opener and a reusable snack bag, both to live in my bike bags! and a big chunk of some heavy knit chevron fabric i'll probably use around the house somewhere for a table cover or something (not pictured lol)
i ALSO stopped at northside marketplace on the way back home b/c something compelled me to and i didn't feel like going home just yet and i found a really cute possum plush and a 3D printed keychain - for $13 total!

when i got home, i cleaned up around my desk area and some of the living room, then dug my patches and pins out to decorate the new bag (it's going to swap out with my opossum 'first of all, i am a delight' tote i've been using for awhile - it's easier to just toss a tote in my bike basket than a bookbag and it's mostly going back and forth to work tbh). ended up weirdly autumn-themed for it being spring now

on the way back from northside marketplace, saw some new graffiti along the towpath

and, finally, some creatures doing creature things on the porch (observing the neighborhood)
