[fic] resurrection

thinking about poe becoming a guardian (she is currently a cryptarch)

i keep mulling around trashing desma in game to make poe in that space but i'm not sure if i will yet or not lol - i specifically grinded out for the 'ghost writer' title b/c i knew it would be fitting for her and the cosmos feels like it's telling me to do so. maybe i'd play warlock more? i hate their jumps, tho....

A gathering (maybe a ‘gaggle’? maybe a ‘shine’? maybe it depends on the individuals present) of Ghosts hovered in the air over a corpse about half knew personally, and another quarter had heard of. The remainder were simply curious what the others were hovering around about.

They were bickering.

“Vanguard policy says Guardians can’t know about their past lives, they’re not allowed to look into them.”

“Like that’s ever stopped them…”

“I mean, she didn’t die that long ago. What, a couple months? Give or take? People are going to know her, she has friends who will recognize her. She has family still living in The City.”

“Might have to go undercover, like Glint did with Crow.”

“That’s ridiculous, she’s not, like– she doesn’t have a bounty on her or something. She didn’t kill someone important.”

“You know she kept journals, right? Like, it’s not going to take long for her to piece things together.”

“She’s not going to remember where she put them when she wakes up.”

“She was a Cryptarch, for Traveler’s sake, I don’t think you lose that desire for knowledge when you’re resurrected. She’s likely to seek it out even if you keep it from her.”

A Ghost with a simple rounded silver shell sighs, “Theorizing will get us nowhere, we must start at the new beginning,” it says, scanning the body.

The former Cryptarch, now reborn as a Lightbearer, gasps awake with new life.
