lightfall thoughts...
so we finished up the campaign missions for lightfall last week and i wanted to ramble a bit about it somewhere that isn't........twitter lol

some initial ramblings from twitter (originally rot13)
finishing up the campaign, it feels a little lacking. i know there's talk about how the post-campaign quests (the exotic specifically) give some more depth/world building to things and i know it's the BEGINNING of a new year/dlc and all, but it is rough to look back to witch queen and how packed full of lore and stuff the campaign missions seemed to be. i also really, really adored the entire throne world vibe (one of my fave places next to the derelict leviathan rip). neomuna feels dull in comparison somehow? but still, only just finished the campaign, haven't really done the footwork of all the bonus stuff like finding secrets and all that
i do love the neomuni npc's, tho, and i love nimbus' thembo energy. i do agree with a lot of folks that rohan's death felt kind of like 'okay'. i wish they'd given him some more time before sacrificing himself.
strand is conceptually fun, but i kind of hated the way we had to use it in the missions - i feel like i'll enjoy it more once i'm able to use/learn it on my own terms
the calus battle was A FUCKING NIGHTMARE. we (tony and i) wiped, like, 15~ times on our first run. i had to google around and find a cheese for it (hiding under the platform) and it was still a chore b/c it took a a bit to whittle him down. tormenters, tho, are scary AND fun to fight b/c they stalk you. fighting alongside caiatl was very fun, as well
i am happier to be at a higher light level and don't have to skulk around neomuna for fear of getting slaughtered once an enemy sees me (except for the threshers..................)
maybe when i re-run stuff i'll see it in a better light haha - the missions themselves were fine/fun, but didn't feel as new/deep as the witch queen ones for some reason? idk, it's hard to articulate. maybe if i hadn't just ran the witch queen campaign with poe, like, the month beforehand i wouldn't be seeing it so freshly next to lightfall
as for season of defiance - i HATE the defiant battlegrounds (maybe they will improve as my light level goes up) but i will suffer them to hear dialogue/lore from mara/crow/devrim/amanda. i do like the weaponry this season, too. a lot of stuff will probably end up going to poe b/c aesthetics lol
root of nightmares raid was cool af!! i watched the world first/day one stream to get the emblems lol but i've never watched a raid being done before so it was cool to see

nimbus' voice is a little weird? unsure if i like it or not yet. only ran the first mission so it's not like there's a lot of material to judge yet lol. loved osiris' 'plan', which sounds a lot like ghost's plan back in the opening wq mission of launching you into sav's ship
the tormentors are cool looking!! also p sure that calus is gonna betray or try to bounce from the witness - their interaction was interesting + it's clear that calus is bored with the situation he's in now. the witness has the vibe of 'this was a mistake'
also love all the different factions/aliens/species in the tower!! the eliksni we were used to, but when i turned into the hall towards the courtyard + spotted the big cabal i was like 'oh shit!!'. also very cool to see the factions on the farm + TALL!! dregs with undocked arms!!
