some reflections on the year (so far)

i was reading back thru entries earlier this year and thought i'd reflect back on this bit of stuff i wanted to try to do in 2023

i want to try and get a new computer chair this year so i can be more comfortable at my desk and maybe stream and shit. i'd like to get a bigger desk or maybe reorganize my space a little? idk. i wanna start riding my bike more (and save money if i don't need to take the e-bikes and scooters lol). i also want to try bookbinding (more than i fucked around with it once at least) just b/c i wanna make little books and shit idk use all those pretty papers and shit i've had lying around for the last decade

gonna try to see about getting a furry track going at oddmall locally - the owner loves furries and the community here has been thriving recently, so i think it'd be a good option for local folks in terms of something convention-like, but not a full blown con. a friend also asked if i wanted to help do volunteer stuff in the games room at matsuricon in cbus - i'm not really big into anime anymore, but i DO like staffing, so i said i'd give it a shot just for the option to futz around somewhere new. won't have to blow a bunch of money on travel/hotel/registration, either, apparently, which is nice

so what DID i manage?

- new computer chair (TWO that tony scavenged from down the road)
- desk situation rearranged (found a nice desk down the road at the curb)

what didn't i make happen?
- only rode my bike...once? twice? boooooo get good, self
- bookbinding - but that's probably b/c i got into zines in feburary lol
- furry track at oddmall - debt thing derailed me and i haven't been able to get up with andy yet
- volunteering at matsuri - see: debt shit

but we did do a lot of stuff otherwise! weekends with friends (porchrokr, pride, geekfest, punk rock flea market, trans beach day, furbowl, brunch bowl, gaming, hiking, halloween, etc, etc!!), lots of gardening, pathfinder nearly every sunday (kailani died!!), halloween game, went to the botanical gardens for the first time ever, made patches, cataloged a ton of our books/media, updated my neocities page, played a lot of destiny, etc., etc., etc...

not as much art output as i would like this year, but it's not as though i wasn't doing creative STUFF, so it balances out

so, it's like, it's not bad! october sucked, but it's just one month and the year so far, otherwise, despite bullshittery, has been pretty good i think
